Day 1Had to watch up early to pack my stuff and prepare for the Thailand trip. Just grab a couple of necessities to help me kill the time over there, such as my DS/MP3 player. Taking a flight around 1pm so had to check in everything by noon. Took Cathay Airlines there, got a window seat. The view was really very nice, like it best at the altitude where you are above those low floating clouds and still see the land. Seeing the land through a thin layer of clouds sure is very very nice =P Too bad I had no camera with me. The flight was around 2 hours. But by the time we settle the custom over there and check into the hotel was 6pm. Really terrible the airport over there, it was very messy, the customs was very slow. And when we were on the bus, the traffic jam there was terrible. But I must admit that the hotel was pretty cool. We stayed over at Grand Diamond hotel. It is a 5 stars hotel, and the room comes with 2 tv, a vcd player and very comfy beds. 1 interesting feature is that the elevator can only be activated by a room card key. After checking in, we took a walk around the streets near the hotel. They set up this kind of pasar malam kinda of thingy and selling all kind of things at quite a cheap price. After walking around for a while, we ate dinner at this seafood restaurant near the hotel. They serve great seafood and we oredered a lot of dishes plus the service there was very good. Whenever my plate got dirty, they would change a new one for me, they would even open the wet towel for u. During the whole course of dinner, they open 3 towels for me. LOL. But if next time I will to come back, would like to try this restaurant again, good service plus good and cheap food. After dinner, walked around the night market somemore, bought some gifts for friends. But the real headache is trying to decide what to buy for Jasmine. Plus I was also trying to decide on what to buy for Bing Hong, Yan Ting and Jiahao. At the same time, shopping for my own stuff and having a good time as well. After walking till around 11pm, we went back to the hotel, I was dead tired than, took a shower and than went to bed. Kinda wish I had my own shower like back home, not really used to the shower head they have there. Day 2When we woke up, had breakfast in the hotel. Really liked the food a lot, they served this fantastic cheese pasta. Plus the omelette was simply heavenly, with usual american breakfast stuff like sausage and bacon. And they had chinese dim sum too. Really very nice breakfast.After that we continued the area near our hotel for more shopping before proceeding to the IT mall. They sell a lot of computer parts at quite cheap prices, only thing is that they dun have the best kind, only average stuff. Like for example, the ram they dun sell 512MB but only 256MB. Guess that the mall was more for their local people. Than we had had lunch at A&W. Kinda miss this fast food restaurant, dun think there is any left in singapore right now. Had my all time favourite, coney dog and curly fries and a rootbeer float to wash it down. The hotdog only cost me $1.60 and the large rootbeer float doesn't even cost me a dollar. After lunch we wanted to go to this weekend market. So we got this "toottoot" to take us there. Its a kind of motortricycle kind of taxi. Instead of bringing us to the market, he brought us to the government building which sells local products. It seems that for every passenger he bring there he can get a couple that would entitle him a free 5 litres for petrol. My mother was furious but after that we managed to get a proper car taxi due to the nice people at the governement building. So we arrived at the weekend market in good time, the taxi fare was very cheap, what would normally cost around 10 bucks in singapore was not even 4 dollars there. The weekend market was packed with people, we were advised by the taxi driver to watch our belongings and hold our bags close to us. Did managed to pick up a couple of stuff that interest me there. And some of the things they sold there was very nice, such as the clock in a bottle, or the signs or even the clay figurines. Love the one with the 2 bunnies holding a welcome sign =PWe just walk a few lanes of the market before deciding to go to chinatown. Was so happy to see the Watson there, pick out 2 bottles of my fav Jasmine Green Tea XD Than we had dinner at this chinese restaurant, the food wasnt too bad, we had sharkfin soup too. But the service was terrible and if you asked me, I still prefer the previous nite restaurant. There was nothing much to shop there unless you wan some local snacks, I brought myself my Jackfruit chips... heheThan we proceeded to a shopping centre. Cant really remember the name, but it was really famous and they place was huge. Only thing is that the stuff there cost many times more than those at the pasar malam or the weekend market. Only pick out 3 shirts here for Bing Hong, YanTing and Jiahao and a pants for Jasmine. Walked around all the floors and look at the various kind of stores they have there. Kinda organised over there such as, 1st floor shoes/bags. 2nd floor clothes. 3rd floor eletronics and so on. We shopped till 10pm before going back to the hotel. Took a shower and watch this nice show on star chn there about this group of terroriest taking over a building. Finish the show at 1++am before going to sleep. Day 3Going to catch a early flight at 1pm out of Thailand today. Had to check out of the hotel by 10.30 pm. So we going had enough time after breakfast to take a last min walk around the hotel area before proceeding back. Packed up our stuff and and checked out, even at this early hour, the traffic jam was kinda bad. Reached the airport around 11. After settling the customs, we had free time before our flight so we around around the duty free area. The things there was really expensive, for example an Archie comic actually cost 16 sing dollars over there. Completely ripping tourists off man. Anyway when we got our tickets, turns out the 3 of us, me and my parents were all in seperate seats. That I did not really mind, but when we got on the plane, I found my supposely window seat was at the wing area so couldn't really see anything. Plus sitting beside me were this china couple and boy were they noisey, talking to their friends around them. And the person in front of me adjusted his seat very low, and I find myself feeling very cramped and did not enjoy it at all. Boy I was glad that the flight took only around 2 hours. Anyway, its really good to be back to Singapore again and this trip sure was interesting. Did mostly a lot of shopping and just walking around shopping sure is tiring. Maybe time to do some traning before I go into NS.As for the gifts part. Bought Bing Hong a "special slogan shirt" plus a billabong hat. Got YanTing a billabong shirt. JiaHao also got a shirt. And I bought Jasmine, a pair of pants, 1 keychain and a necklace. Not sure if I gonna give her the necklace first or not. Better evaluate what is my relationship with her first ba I guess. Than I bought myself a couple of shirts and pants plus a few movies. Just walked one of them, the quality was crystal clear, wonder how the hell they make such a nice pirated DVD man, dun even think you can get it in singapore. Not sure when is the next time I get to leave the country to go somewhere far, afterall I got to be tied down to NS for 2 years pretty soon. So, this time I had lots of fun and it was a good exprience. =P
