Continue Part 2... Today book out because I attn C due to high fever. Wednesday morning go back in again /an

Tuesday 10th Jan

Book back to camp around 10++ pm, enuff time just to change than go to bed... I changing halfway kena lights out, wtf sia! /pif

Wednesday 11th Jan

Morning go swimming /lv Water feel so shiok sia, not weather in Tekong everyday so hot /... 1 Week keep on raining, week after sun so farking hot. After morning swim went back to bunk change and do some area cleaning. Than w ntroduction to gym in the afternoon, teach us how to train us up so that our IPPT can pass easiler. Than at night we learn some songs to sing while we are marching back and forth from the cook house.

Thursday 12th Jan

We had first aid lecture in the Morning. So many things to remember somemore next day first aid test edi. Feel like back to school sia XD Afternoon Ammo lecture together with CPR lecture. ZZZ whole day lecture all the way. Night time we got our rifle presentation, everyone is presented with a rifle and according to the sir, it is when we become man. Since we all our now given the power to kill. Quite fun the presentation, must snatch the rifle from the officer /gg But somehow find the rifle to be more of a burden than something fun. GO everywhere must carry rifle go, if not kena fark by SGT and may even have to do guard duty on weekend...

Friday 13th Jan

Whole morning had first aid test, CPR session almost got full mark, short of 1 point nia. Theory was quite ok, most of the things can answer. Than for strecher no problem setting it up and securing it. The part most cacat one is the bandaging part. I heard the SGT wrongly /sob He say right elbow injured, I go bandage right arm... Fail like fark sia that section but overall should be able to pass /wah Afternoon we got our first IPPT cat, after 7 months never run or do training, become very jialat. Failed 2 stations, chin-up and 2.4km run /wah Everynight now must run den can go sleep /sob At night got to pack our field pack for the route march. SGT eat into our admin time, say what fark personal time, only left 15 mins for us to bathe /pif

Saturday 14th Jan

Got a talk by the orientation officer about how to manage relationship and fiance. After that we learn how to strip and assemble our M16S1 rifle. Next we went to soak our uniform in insect repellent so that we wont be bitten by mosquito so much during our field camp. Following that in the afternoon, we learn how to load and unload our rifle together with a individual field craft lecture. At night we had a practice drill to assemble and strip our weapon. Given 60 secs each to strip and assemble the rifle. The stripping part quite easy, could do it around 30 secs, but the assembling part always around just nice /wah

Sunday 15th Jan

Started out with a 4.8km router march in full battle order. Wearing our SBO and helmet together with our field pack with the rifle. The first round 2.4km already buay tahan, than endure another 2.4km than get to take off everything. The field pack was dam heavy sia, think everything weight up to be more than 10kg. Felt like giving up many times during the march but decided to continue on. When we got back, we have another lecture on individual field craft 2 with a physical training in the afternoon. After the route march and the exersise, whole body aching like hell xD

Monday 16th Jan

We got strenth training in the morning, halfway I kenot take it fall out. SGT ask me measure temperature, found out I got high fever of 38.3 degree. So I had to report to the medical centre to see how. Medical officer found out I got high fever along with cough and sore throat. He gave me a Attn C status, which means I am unfit for duty for 2 days. That why today I get to book out, took the 2pm ferry out and back to mainland. Its good to be back home /gg Feeling slightly jialat at first but now ok edi /heh SO happy can get to book out /gg

Day 1 - 5 Jan 2006

Went to Pasir Ris Bus interchange to report for NS. First day booking in, accompanied by parents. The bus took us to Singapore Jetty where we all caught the boat to take us to the remote island, Pular Tekong. Once we reached, they brought our parents around for a tour while the rest of us have to learn how to do the swearing in oath. After that, we went to listen to the Commanding Officer in charge of the whole camp for a talk plus our swearing in ceremony. Than we met up with our parents for dinner and after dinner they took the ferry back to the mainland and the next time we get to see them is when we book out. Next we went to collect our field pack plus standard accessories including clothes. Following that was a haircut, botak style and than we were dismissed with 15 mins left to organise our stuff and lights out. A very very rushed first day. By the way, I am in Viper Company, platoon 2, section 1.

Day 2 - 6 Jan 2006 Until Day 5 - 9 Jan 2006

We learn drills, prepare our field pack equipment for outfield, such as setting up the SBO, helmet with camoflage webbing. Learn how to draw our rifle from armstore everyday, learn how to do 5BX and CPT1. CPT1 is a series of 10 static exersise together with 3 movement exersise. 5BX is basically an exersise we got to do before breakfast. Supposed to go swimming but was cancelled last min due to the rain. Last min was like, we were already at the pool wearing our swimming trunks when they cancelled it =.= Anyway weather was horrible in tekong, heavy rain everyday which means training gets postponed. If training is postponed and cant be finish it means no booking out on weekend for end T_T And my clothes also had a hard time drying up. And it gets very hard to sleep since it is quite near the changi airport and airplanes fly above up around every 15-30 mins. And it doesnt stop at all, even throughout the night. So had a hard time sleeping the first night but its getting better now. Also we had a few lectures on weapon and other admin issues. Today we also went to the live firing range to learn about the penertrating power of the M16 rifle. Quite interesting actually. And lastly we booked at 2045 hours. Reach Singapore Pasir Ris interchange at 2110 hours. And tml must book in at 2040 hours. Got less than 24 hours for ourselves outside.... sob...

Seriously, when I am inside, constantly will think of my friends and family outside, my lifestyle before I got into NS. Miss playing games, you will feel very homesick at times and sometimes will really feel like crying. But still, it is something we have to go through, I only hope than we get more chance to book out. In I am not wrong, this time there is still around 10 days left to our confiment before we booked out during the weekend. Than we have a long chinese new year break of 6 days but to make up for it, we cant book out for 21 days T_T I will surly be homesick again like crazy =X Must try to hang in there, hope it does not rain too much otherwise it would be the whole 9 weeks in tekong xD

On a last note, because of NS, I also miss the S.H.E autograph session today... Haiz... guess there are many things you have to give up once you are serving NS.
